Sound installation by Pulitzer-Prize winning composer Ellen Reid with text by me, commissioned by the Los Angeles Philharmonic for their Centennial season. Piece was performed in October 2018 in the garden at Walt Disney Concert Hall during intermission and before performances by Andrew Bird and Moby.
Choral piece commissioned by the Los Angeles Master Chorale that asks the question, who pays for the American Dream? collaged from ethnographies, oral histories and on-the-ground interviews detailing Memphis during the Reconstruction era, Houston during the oil boom and L.A. in the modern space age. Developed in collaboration with composer Ellen Reid and anthropologist Sayd Randle. World premiere at Walt Disney Concert Hall in May 2018.
Opera scene written for composer Sato Matsui for OperaComp, a collaborative opera project launched by Chason Goldschmitz and Aaron Severini. Premiered at Juilliard in March 2017.
